The Sandhills are a small band of friends, led by singer-songwriter Chris Hann, making music that veers between alt-folk, alt-country and indie-pop.

After releasing two EPs and an LP working alone, Chris collaborated with Darwin violinist Ania Tait and in March 2025 The Sandhills released the EP Prairies.
The Sandhills are recording a new LP, due for release mid 2026 and we have already released two singles from the album - "Fire on the Mountain" and "Counting Fractures".
Our next single, "Honey Brown", will be released on March 6. It's an upbeat, jangly love story about two fruit pickers that follow love wherever it leads.
Listen to The Sandhills
Our latest single, Honey Brown, is a sunny love song for fruit pickers and farm hands, featuring a racy violin melody by Darwin musician Ania Tait.
Counting Fractures is an observation of the kindnesses we show each other when we're all sleep deprived. It's a reminder that we can always choose to get along if we make space for each other.
In September we released a folky single, Fire on the Mountain. It's about finding your way back to love, after a quarrel. Or maybe that sheepish look on your face, right before you try to apologise.
Released early in 2025, Prairies has been described as a homage to life on the fringe - to corruption, sacrifice, desire and patience.

After hitting the road in October 2025, on our first ever tour of south west Australia with folk/country superstar Alice Cotton, we're taking a break from gigging while we complete our new LP.
